Abstract
This special issue "Conservation of Contemporary Art and New Media" is the result of the work of some of the members of the team of the same name. This is a multidisciplinary working team, made up of specialists in conservation-restoration, chemistry, archival science and technological engineering, who are dedicated to the research, conservation and restoration of contemporary art, both in museums and in private sectors, as well as in the academic field. In addition, this group of professionals is spread across different countries: Spain, Belgium, Argentina, Mexico, Switzerland, Italy, Canada, Denmark and the United Kingdom. Its creation was based on the objective of generating links between members, creating and sharing knowledge and exchanging research results and professional experiences, in order to consolidate a sector of the profession and promote a network of professional relationships to support the people involved.
