Tomar's Industrial Heritage and the ‘Trays Festival’
Abstract
This article aims to present the relationship between Tomar's industrial heritage and its intangible cultural heritage, more specifically the Festa dos Tabuleiros, through its participation in and organization of the festival. This relationship, which extends to the entire municipality of Tomar, gave rise to the desire and need to preserve both heritages, which are still related today, since both are highly important to the collective memory and identity of the population of the city of Tomar. In this way, the connection between Tomar's Industrial Heritage and the Festa dos Tabuleiros over time is described, as well as the way in which its preservation has been realized.
