Abstract
In 2017 the Municipal and Historical Archive of Cascais decided to restore the oldest image depicting the village – a print from the XVI century taken from the book Civitates Orbis Terrarum, one of the most important documents about the cities in the medieval age. The work was performed by the Company: Água de Cal Conservação e Restauro, and this article presents the technical options assumed during the process. It’s also a sharing with all the professionals of the area, which is justified by the few publications related with cases similar to the described.
